Chestnut Products French Polish - 500ml

Achieve the authentic, deep amber glow of fine antique furniture on your next woodworking project with Chestnut Products French Polish. This traditional, heavy-concentration shellac finish is built up in numerous ultra-thin layers—each roughly the thickness of a cigarette paper—delivering a breathtaking final effect that rewards the patience of skilled tradespeople and dedicated DIYers alike. While applying this finish requires a specific, time-consuming, and laborious technique, the stunning visual results have to be seen to be believed.

Formulated as a traditional blend of solvent, specifically methylated spirit, and top-quality unbleached shellac, it performs comparably in colour to a Button Polish. It can be applied directly to bare timber or over a Shellac Sanding Sealer. Please note that this finish is not very hard wearing, making it best suited for cherished items that will receive careful maintenance.
