Whether you are refreshing customer upholstery, customising workwear shorts and vests, or dyeing delicate wool and silk materials, this hand-use dye delivers intense, long-lasting results every time.
Preparation is straightforward for any tradesperson or DIYer. Simply weigh your dry fabric, wash it thoroughly, and leave it damp. You will need 250g of ordinary salt to complete the process. Dissolve the dye in 500ml of warm water while wearing rubber gloves, fill a bowl or stainless steel sink with approximately 6 litres of warm water at 40°C, and stir in 250g, which is 10tbsp, of salt before adding your dye. Submerge the fabric, stir continuously for 15mins, and then maintain regular stirring for 45mins. Finish by rinsing in cold water, washing in warm water, and drying away from direct heat and sunlight.
